Pete's Stateline Sweets Sign

Welcome to Pete's Stateline Sweets!

Everyone asks us why we named a Candy Store inside Warren's Lobster House Pete's Stateline Sweets? Well here is the answer… In 1940 Warren "Pete" Wurm opened Warren's Lobster House. We wanted to make our decades of history of doing business on the Seacoast a part of our new candy store. We didn't know very much about Warren Wurm when we started this project but we read many newspaper articles from the Portsmouth Herald from the 1940's and 1950's and "Pete" Wurm was mentioned in nearly every sports section during the high school basketball and baseball seasons. Rarely was his first name Warren ever used! That was when we decided that "Pete's" was the perfect name for our Candy Store inside Warren's Lobster House!

The "Stateline" part of our name comes from our location. Our building sits on pilings above the Piscataqua River. The river runs southeastward and determines part of the boundary between the states of New Hampshire and Maine. We are located on historic Route One in the southern most part of Kittery, Maine, however many think of us as part of downtown Portsmouth, NH because we are just a very short walk away!

The "Sweets" are the best part! We have over 150 different kinds of nostalgic candy, decadent chocolates and all of your other favorites to choose from! We are adding new selections every week and will not stop until we have filled every square foot of our store with CANDY! Come in and see why people have called us the biggest "little candy store" on the Seacoast!
